A celebrated designer, architect and artist. Glasgow-born Charles Rennie Mackintosh earned worldwide acclaim as a visionary in furniture design, interior design and textiles. With a distinctive style combining sharp clean lines and right angles, with subtle curves and floral motifs, his influence on European design and Art Nouveau in the UK at the turn of the 20th Century was legendary. Now the Mackintosh philosophy lives on through a series of stunning in-frame and contemporary designs, delivering not only kitchens for living in, but also works of art. Designed with the present and future in mind rather than an eye on the past, they resonate with the ideals of the man himself.

As well as an in-frame range, including Walnut, Lissa Oak and Painted Ivory Timber doors, one of the more innovative aspects of this new range is the Charles Rennie Mackintosh ‘Touch’ system. This is designed to make the planning, design and installation of a handleless kitchen as simple and straightforward as possible. ‘Touch’ is available on Gloss White, Gloss Ivory, Gloss Black, Gloss Ebony, Veneered Walnut and Veneered Natural Oak kitchens. The principle of ‘Touch’ is that wherever possible, doors and flaps are opened simply by touch which will activate the spring open hinges. (Note: certain appliance doors, pullout units, magic corners, etc, cannot have spring open hinges). In the same way, ‘Touch’ drawers and pan drawers are opened by touch, activating the spring open drawer runners.
