Case Study - Sandy
& Andy Willis
This
set of images shows Sandy & Andy Willis’ kitchen which
was installed in 2005. They had major surgery to their old kitchen
which included new lighting, changing the doorway and a new
ceiling. They chose a contemporary Nolte maple door with dark
gloss work surfaces. They then added colourful glass tiles and
modern appliances to give their kitchen a truly unique look.
David
who designed the kitchen recalls “Sandy and Andy had
a really awkward kitchen with a corridor through the middle
because of the door positions. Their idea to close off one
door and reopen another that had been blocked up transformed
the kitchen into a classic U shape, with the corridor passing
across the bottom of the U to clear off all the action! Sandy‘s
choice of glass tiles was the icing on the cake and reminds
us how subtle colours in glass border tiles can really lift
a kitchen”.
Sandy
says of the experience “we are really pleased with it,
it turned out better than we thought. There were so many changes
to the layout it is so practical now. I chose drawers rather
than cupboards which makes it much easier as I don’t
have to bend down and I also have a lovely view of the garden
from the sink” Andy was equally pleased, particularly
the fitting team “Steve was brilliant, we couldn’t
have wished for a better fitter.”
